Endorsements

Listing personalities and organizations that support me is far less important than asking you to endorse me with your vote at the ballot box. But, it is human nature to want to know what others think. So, what follows is both... What other people think... and further insights into who I am.

Ideas I endorse...

Susan B. Anthony, 1860

Cautious, careful people always casting about to preserve their reputation and social standing, never can bring about a reform.

I will stand firm in my resolve to support the principles that founded our nation. That takes courage and a willingness to "suffer the slings and arrows" others may throw.

Failure is impossible!

Susan B. Anthony, 1906

I am tenacious, fierce, and optimistic.

George Washington, 1776

...your country is at stake, ...and all that you hold dear. ...If you will consent to stay one month longer, you will render that service to the cause of liberty, and to your country, which you probably can never do under any other circumstances.

We must get out and VOTE! I promise to listen to you often, consider your words carefully, and be accountable to you for decisions I make on our behalf.

James Madison, 1788

...there are more instances of the abridgement of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.

Debt enslaves us. It can make us feel hopeless, anxious, and depressed. The more agencies the government creates, the greater our dept grows!

Willa Sibert Cather, 1913

There are only two or three human stories, and they go on repeating themselves as fiercely as if they had never happened before.

California's original 1849 Constitution had just over 4,000 words. Our federal Constitution has about 8,000 words including the 21 Amendments. Today's California Constitution has over 80,000 words and hundreds of amendments. Last year the FULL-TIME legislature considered nearly 3,000 bills in some form. We Californians are smart, responsible, and capable men and women. We do not need 80,000 words and countless new bills to "help" us live our best lives!

Frederick Douglass, 1886

Where justice is denied, where poverty is enforced, where ignorance prevails, and where any one class is made to feel that society is an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob, and degrade them, neither persons nor property will be safe.

We must return to our founding principles. We must strive to unite as a moral society, believing in one God, pledging allegiance to one flag, and honoring one nation.

President Donald J. Trump 2017 Inaugural Address

When you open your heart to patriotism, there is no room for prejudice. The Bible tells us, "How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity." ... We must speak our minds openly, debate our disagreements honestly, but always pursue solidarity.

* I spent over 6 months at the Library of Congress and three weeks at Rochester University researching Susan B. Anthony. I wrote a one-woman show about her which I performed at colleges, universities, and at grade school assemblies. I was a repeat performer for the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. and a week-long guest performer for the City of Rochester, New York during their 150th anniversary celebration. Rochester was Susan B. Anthony’s home for over 50 years.
